CPP31318 Certificate III in Security Operations aims to provide participants with the knowledge and skills required to provide intermediate security services including basic risk management and the formulation of security response options. Security officers at this level provide leadership in a team environment, operate under limited supervision, and use discretion and judgement in known and unpredictable work contexts. They take responsibility for their own outputs in work and learning, and limited responsibility for the output of others in the work team.
This course caters to those who have already completed other entry level studies relevant to the security industry, as well for entry level into specialised streams the security industry which comprises of people and companies mainly engaged in providing security, protection and private enquiry services - other than units of police forces and government security agencies.
CPP31318 Certificate III in Security Operations is from the Property Services Training Package. It aims to provide participants with the knowledge and skills required to provide intermediate security services including basic risk management and the formulation of security response options.

Study Pathways

Prerequisites
To gain entry into this qualification you must hold a current security licence in the relevant jurisdiction.
Pre-enrolment Requirement
A pretraining and Language, Literacy, and Numeracy (LLN) test is required prior to enrolment in this course.
Duration
This course is completed over a 6 - 12 month duration via self-paced online training and assessment. Plus a 3 day face to face practical assessment after completing the online portion of the course.
Delivery
Blended delivery with a combination of online training and assessment and face to face practicals held at either Bentleigh & Adelaide campus.
Coursework and Assessment
This qualification forms the basis for meeting specialist occupational requirements for the private security industry. The content includes customer service, workplace safety, leadership and teamwork skills, presenting evidence in court and maintaining the security of premises.
This qualification does not provide you with a licensing outcome within the jurisdiction of South Australia.
Licensing Outcomes
This qualification alone does not provide you with a licensing outcome. It provides the core units and some electives that will count towards requirements needed for some additional licensing requirements. You will need to complete additional skills training in Body guarding to have this activity endorsed on your security license.
