Overview
The Utilities Temporary Traffic Management (TTM) Worker Accreditation course is designed for all workers employed directly or indirectly by a Utility organisation that provides basic public needs such as water, gas, electricity, communications. Indirectly refers to companies who solely work to provide services to a provider of electricity, gas, water or communications. In collaboration with all Utilities providers the content of this course was designed to meet the needs of essential infield utilities workers for the application of restricted Temporary Traffic Management practices.
Entry requirements
Who can complete the Utilities TTM Worker Accreditation Course? Only workers who hold a card identifying them as a worker for a utility provider listed below may enrol in this course. - SA Power Network - SA Water - Australian Gas Infrastructure Group (AGIG) and APA Group - Service Stream NBN AND Hold a Construction Industry White Card If you are unsure if you fall into this category please contact us for clarification.
Coursework and Assessment
This course is a competency-based training program. You will be assessed via a combination of multiple-choice questioning, written response assessments, incident reporting, verbal questioning and practical skills demonstration and assessment.
Certificate of Completion
On successful completion of the course you will receive: 1. A Certificate of Completion which states that you have successfully completed the Utilities TTM Worker Accreditation course. This Certificate of Completion will include the following:
This Certificate provides the individual to perform duties as an infield Utilities worker which excludes the individual from performing the functions of a fully qualified Traffic Controller, Traffic Management Implementer or Traffic Management Designer.
2. A plastic Utilities TTM Card that will be issued by the Department for Infrastructure and Transport.
Accreditation
By successfully completing the Utilities Temporary Traffic Management (TTM) Worker Accreditation course you will receive your accreditation to undertake TTM as a utility worker and be registered with Austroads and the Department of infrastructure and Transport SA (DITSA).
FAQs
If you Traffic control card is current you do not need to update immediately, however you do need to complete the new training course before your card expires.
To maintain currency, refresher training will need to be completed every 3 years. The renewal date will be that of the 3-year anniversary of the issuance of the Statement of Completion. Refresher training must be undertaken prior to the renewal date. More information about Refresher training will be released by DITSA later.
